Hawai'i Pacific will field an acrobatics and tumbling squad!

HONOLULU, HI (July 23, 2013) – This spring, Hawai'i Pacific will field an acrobatics and tumbling squad for the first time. This week, the athletics department found its leader, Keenyn Won, to navigate the Sea Warriors in this NCAA emerging sport.

“I am very excited about getting the team together and starting practice! I am confident that this year is going to be an amazing one, and the start to a phenomenal program,” said Won.

Won, born and raised in Kunia, is a veteran of A&T. She was a student-athlete during A&T's inaugural year at the University of Oregon in 2010. She was also a part of Duck teams that won the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) Championship in 2011 and 2012.

Won excelled as a competitive cheerleader on Oahu as she was a four-time Hawaii High School Athletics Association (HHSAA) All-State First Teamer while attending Kamehameha-Kapalama High School. Her senior year she was the HHSAA Cheerleader of the Year. She led talented teams, wining the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) national championship in 2007 and 2008. Won would go onto being an instructor for two years for UCA.
